Problem with comments without login
-
Hi! I always recieved comments in my blog without any problem, but a customer informed me that my blog is asking for login to be able to comment.
In the backoffice, the following options are disabled:
– Other comment settings Comment author must fill out name and email
– Users must be registered and logged in to commentIs mandatory to be logged in to publish a comment? Do I have any issue in my wordpress?
Thank you very much.

Hi there,
I’ve just checked your site, and I can see that it is possible to add a comment on your posts when not logged in into WordPress.com.
You can try yourself by trying to add a comment from a different browser, where you’re not logged in into your account.
Do you have more information on where/when they were asked to be logged in? On which page exactly? Does this happens to just one person, or more visitors had the same issue?

Hello, thanks for the answer!
My friend send me this screenshot showing the screen asking for log in just after writing a comment in any post:
This pops up using private navigation in chrome.

Hello Esther,
Who’s email address is this – (email visible only to moderators and staff)?
It would be helpful if the error message your friend is getting was translated to English. :)
I tried to translate it, it seems your friend is the one having problem. His browser is detecting an account for that email address, and so he’s being asked to login.
I tried to post a test comment with a different browser, and your website allows me to do that without logging in – I didn’t enter name nor email address, just my comment.
You can ask your friend to try logging in – seems this is his Gravatar, or try using a different browser.
Regards,
Rose
