Premium vs Business

    I have a few questions:
    1) I recently purchased premium but I think I may need to upgrade to business. I believe I read that business has the ability to host an event calendar and the ability to collect funds. Is this true? Is this not available with premium?
    2) If I do need to upgrade – how do I do it?
    3) I purchased a domain from godaddy – how do I use what I am creating in wordpress to use the domain I purchased?

    1. Can you explain a bit more on the “event calendar” part? It would be better if you can link me to that page.

    As for collecting funds, you can make use of either Simple Payments https://en.support.wordpress.com/simple-payments/ which is available on both WordPress.com Premium plan and WordPress.com Business plan.

    2. If you wish to upgrade your WordPress.com site from WordPress.com Premium plan to WordPress.com Business plan though, you can do this on this page. https://wordpress.com/plans

    3. Yes, it’s possible to map an existing domain you have on GoDaddy to your WordPress.com site. Follow the steps on this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ to do that.

    Thanks for your replies! For the event calendar – our business teaches classes of various types. I would like to be able to post a calendar where people can see names and data and then sign up for the classes. Of course our classes have a capacity limit, so it would be nice to show how many available slots there were and not let the class become over filled.

    Hi there,

    Looks like you need to use a plugin in order to create a calendar where people can sign up for classes. Therefore, you need to upgrade to the Business plan which is the only plan that allows the installation of plugins.

    Also, the domain you already have mapped with the Premium plan will remain mapped if you upgrade to the Business plan.
