posts missing text & text scrambled

  • I’m having issues with my blog at https://wherearegng.wordpress.com/ which is using the Gateway Theme. Older posts seem to be missing most or all of the text and the text that still is in place is scrambled though no editing has been done to these posts. It appears that the photos are all in place. An example is the very first post — https://wherearegng.wordpress.com/2015/10/15/loess-hills-iowa/. Most the text is missing and what remains is at the end after all the pictures. This is not how we published it — we had text, then photo, text then photo, etc. I’d say half the text is simply not there. Please help!

  • I don’t see any history of edits to that post since 2015, the post’s structure has stayed consistent in each edit, and the structure you see now is the original version of it.

  • Exactly….the posts have NOT been edited. A reader actually brought it to my attention that the text on older posts seems to have changed. Could a change to the theme somehow change the presentation of text or which text is included? I realize I am grasping at straws here without an example of a post saved locally with the text as I remember originally posting it…..

Changing the theme should not have any effect on the actual post content – it should not have eliminated or added to your post whatsoever. There might have been some slight design changes depending on the theme, but you definitely shouldn’t have lost any written content.
