Posting to other pages

  • Can I make regular posts to a page on my blog other than the home page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • No. There is only one running page for all posts on any blog. On it published posts appear in reverser chronological order. However, as we assign Categories to posts each time we publish a post it appears on the Category page it’s assigned to (and in the Archives pages). This means we can create the appearance of posting to more than one page by simply assigning categories and using a custom menu.

Have you ever wanted to have a different title for one of your pages than the label displayed in your site’s navigation?
Ever wanted to change the order of the list of pages to an order you chose yourself?
Ever wanted to be able to mix pages, categories, and random links in your navigation instead of your theme deciding for you?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re in luck! The new custom menus feature will do all those things.

You are using Coraline and that theme does have the custom menu feature. So instead of having only static pages in your top navigation you could create a custom menu and include Categories as well.

  • That’s my problem. I made a static page and now my blog page is on another page. I can’t post anymore on it.

  • If you created a “blog” page for your posts and set that page as the “posts” page under settings > reading, then any post you publish will show up on that page.
