Possible to retrieve a reserved name?
-
The name I’d like to register (fowlb) is coming up as reserved. I suspect I may have made an abortive attempt to register that myself and have deleted it, therefore it has disappeared into the wordpress black hole of unusable websites.
I’m asking first, but I guess I will be redirected to wordpress support; but at the moment the websites in case are freebie ones … how to get in touch.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That blog is reserved by a user with the same username who registered back in April 2012.
If you do believe that is your WordPress.com account, please visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and click “Need More Help?” if necessary.

Thanks, macmanx, and I’ve submitted an online request. Just for info, the ‘recovery’ form rejected me because fowlb.wordpress.com doesn’t exist, even though the name remains registered.
Perhaps, and only if recovering a website, wordpress might admit to knowing about the registered but deleted name? Just a thought.
No probs because I have submitted a request by fiddling the blog name. I’m sure once a human gets to read it, the request will make sense. -
It’s not deleted, it’s reserved by a user with the same username, so you would need to gain access to that user account to use that blog.

Can two different people have the same username, dggrainge ??? Given I am invited to logon either with a username or a password, I would have thought usernames were unique?
In which case, I’m dggrainge, I *can* logon with that name and I see no details about a reserved name on my blogs list.
If there’s another account with an identical username I can understand WordPress being coy about details – but from my perspective, I’m getting confused about how to deal with the matter. -
No, the username which reserved fowlb.wordpress.com is fowlb, that’s what I mean by “it’s reserved by a user with the same username.”
