pictorico theme home page

  • Hi.
I cannot work out how to make my blog look like the Pictorico theme example. I would like to have the image at the top of the page have the little arrows on the sides so you can view the next image. And I would also like to make the grid of the featured images so when you put your curser over it, the tags appear. When you click on the featured images, it take you to that post.
Can anyone help me do this?
    Thanks heaps

  • Hi there!

I noticed that you’ve set your site’s home page to be a static front page while Pictorico’s demo site is set to display a listing of latest posts on the home page.

As a first step to getting set up like the demo site, please navigate to the Static Front Page panel of the WordPress.com Customizer and check the option next to “Your latest posts.”

After you have saved your changes, your published posts will then appear on the home page in the same format shown on the demo site. A post’s featured image will be displayed alongside the link to it on the home page.

Next, navigate to the Featured Content panel in the Customizer to set up the posts that appear in the top slider. I can see you’ve already added “Film” to the “Tag Name” field there. Any post that you tag with “Film” will therefore display in the slider. Add a featured image to a post with that tag in order to add an image to the slider.

Let me know if that’s clear! If you have any extra questions then we’ll be right here, too.
