password protect / deleting a blog
-
hi, i’ve created a blog some time ago, but never really wrote anything to it.
now i wanted to reactivate the blog and write about an upcoming wedding which i wanted to be for my two families and/or friends only.
how can i password protect my blog? i know it is possible since i came across blogs which actually needed a password to be entered
or else you weren’t able to read the pages. so how is it possible??also i have not found any delete-blog button yet … is it not possible to erase a blog one had once created?? i’m not talking about a comment
or an article, but the whole blog itself. is it not possible to delete it again?thanx
tina (not yet knowing what she’s doing)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Tina
Once you delete a blog, you really need to be sure that’s what you want to do, it’s gone forever…you nor anybody else will be able to use that blog name. Here’s a link from support that explains it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/ I suggest not deleting the blog but to make it hidden just in case you want to use it in the future or perhaps someone else might want the blog name in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/
and of course it’s possible to make a blog private and you can choose whom gets the password to it to read it. Here’s a link explaining that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#private-blog
Hope this helps you a bit. :) -

This is the correct link to make a blog private and to allow up to 35 people to view it:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
May I also add that the visitors must have a WordPress.COM account (but not necessarily a blog)?
