Pages Not Properly Displayed on Navigation Bar

  • I recently edited some of my blog’s pages, removing some, changing titles and changing the order. I did this under “Appearance,” and “Menu.” However, these changes do not show up on the site’s home page. Pages I deleted are still listed on the navigation bar even though they are listed as not existing when you click on them. How can I get the navigation bar to reflect the correct pages?

  • Pages I deleted are still listed on the navigation bar even though they are listed as not existing when you click on them. How can I get the navigation bar to reflect the correct pages?

First, custom menus (found at Appearance > Menus) contain only links to pages. Therefore you can only add, edit, or delete links to pages there. You can not delete a single page there.

Second, the fact that your navigation bar pages menu does not reflect the changes made on the custom menu indicates that it isn’t even displaying the custom menu. To have the navigation bar display the custom menu you’ve got to check “Primary Navigation” in the Menu Settings section at the bottom of the Menu Structure.

To delete pages from the website, go to Pages > All Pages, and delete the ones you don’t want one at a time or in bulk.

  • Thanks. That worked.
