When commenting on blogspot profiles using my wordpress username. I get a notification that says ‘Open ID credentials could not be verified’. I’ve tried this on several different blogs with no luck at commenting. How do I fix this?!

The blog I need help with is readingwithjessica.wordpress.com.

The blogspot.com software is not recognizing your WordPress.COM identity. This is a very common issue.

The bottom line is that the blogspot software expects your blog to be the same as your username ie. it expects your username to be linked to a wordpress.COM blog URL that exactly matches your username.

When that isn’t the case the software will not allow you to link to any other URL in a comment. So the blogspot.com bloggers have to change their settings for comments for you to be able to comment as
readingwithjessica and link that username to https://readingwithjessica.wordpress.com/

But isn’t my username the exact same as my wordpress blog address? I’m typing in readingwithjessica as my username. Thank you so much for your help by the way! Will check out these links.

Just to update: I’ve tried clearing cookies/cache. I’ve also tried to use Open ID and WordPress option when commenting, neither worked. Also tried different blogger blogs with no luck. It doesn’t seem realistic to ask each blogger to change settings every time I want to comment. Surely there’s an easier way?? I keep getting referenced to an Open ID setting but am unable to find this in my settings. Also found I’m supposed to add a link in HTML but not sure how to access and edit this on WordPress.

Sadly, there is no easier way and if there had been one I would have shared it with you.

Perhaps something has changed, though I do doubt it. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up.
