Not site I picked, I want a free site and if I like it I’ll buy. But at the way this going forget it! I had a site before and it’s gone. Why would I pay for WP when it’s broken?

I see that you have two sites on this WordPress.com account. You can switch between them by clicking My Site → Switch site at the top left of your WordPress.com dashboard.
I had a site before and it’s gone.
If you don’t see the site you had on this account, it would mean you may have had the site on a different WordPress.com account. Can you share the address of the site you had so that we can look into it?

The main difference between a blog and a website is how the content is laid out in front of the visitors. To have a blog on your homepage, you can click My Site → Appearance → Customize → Homepage Settings → chose “Your latest posts” under “Your homepage displays” option. Then click Save Changes.
This will show only the latest blog posts on your homepage.
