No Link or Menu Option to Install Plugins

  • I am looking to install two different plugins. The Dashboard menu does not have the Plugin option at all. The new My Site menu has the option, but when clicked takes me to a page that offers upgrades to my plan, and has no links related to searching for or adding plugins. I obviously cannot follow any installation instructions or tutorials as they show WP menus and options that do not seem to exist any more or I cannot access under my plan… Any help would be appreciated.

I started my blog in early October 2015, and currently have the Premium plan.

  • Hello there, Viv!

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble. I hope we can get this sorted out! On WordPress.com, the most popular plugin functionality is built in automatically, so you don’t need to worry about it.

However, for various security reasons, WordPress.com sites do not support the installation of custom plugins. That is reserved for self-hosted WordPress.org installations.

    I hope this helps… Happy Pressing! :)
