New domain name and site redirection too?

  If I am ready to add a new domain name to get rid of the ‘.wordpress.com’, do I need to pay the additional fee for site redirection? Or because I am staying with wordpress, will it automatically take people from the ‘.wordpress.com’ to the ‘.com’ site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you add a custom domain name and map it with Domain Mapping – that is all you need to do – all your old addresses will go to your new domain name address automatically – nothing more to do

  Site Redirect is if you are leaving WordPress.COM and you have not been using a custom domain name –

  You would use Site Redirect if you had your-site.wordpress.com and moved off site
