Need to disable automatic reply to comment
-
I administer two wordpress blogs. One is personal (erbcommunications.com) and one is for Habitat for Humanity (restorenation.wordpress.com)
From my research I learned that plugins are only available on self-hosted sites like my erbcommunications.com site, which I understand. However, on the restorenation.wordpress.com site, (which I just started administering recently) something is happening that looks like a plugin was installed. When someone leaves a comment to a blog post, an automatic reply to their comment from restorenation shows up. I need to disable this feature. I have looked all around the menu and in the Discussions tab and can not find how to disable automatic replies. How is this happening and how can I turn it off? Thank you!

As you can see, the auto response is generic and not appropriate for all comments. I can’t find anything in my dashboard to turn it off. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Kathy -
That’s coming from your email, not a plugin.
When a comment is left, a notice is sent to the email address in the Settings section of your blog’s Dashboard. If you reply to this notification email, it will be left as a reply comment on the blog.
The email address that you have in the Settings section of your blog’s Dashboard has an auto-responder which replies to ever email it receives, even the comment notification emails, thus leaving the reply you see on your blog.
I recommend switching that email address to something else.

Thank you very much for your reply! I will look into that. Happy holidays! Erbcommunciations
