Need help with making simple columns but need them responsive
-
I am working with the responsive template Chronicle and I am trying to make a simple scenario where I have images side by side and with text underneath the images, in essence, columns.
I have found out how to make images be side by side but cannot figure out how to do this with text. I have searched for days and ALL tutorials on this subject use a plug-in and are about wordpress.org not .com.
Is there simple code I code put around the text? Are there some tutorials on this somewhere?
I have been designing with html for years and have been very used to using tables which was sooooo simple! Now with template design, css, etc, I am lost.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is there a different forum where I should be posting this?
I feel my design is EXTREMELY limited if I cannot put things side by side.
Frustrated.

This might be a good starting point: https://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/formatting-text-pt-1/
The last section talking about “flexible-width” might be helpful.
You can also do html tables: https://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/table-coding-for-wordpress-com-users/
