need definitions to move domain
-
I bought a domain from another site and want to use it when building a WordPress website (not my WordPress blog – a new website). When I try to put the domain’s name on the WordPress platform I get a message that it’s not registered yet and can’t be mapped.
Where I got the domain they tell me I need to get definitions for my domain from the host company. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you asking about creating a WordPress.ORG site on paid hosting to use the domain URL on? See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/
Are you aware of what follows?
We provide support only for sites hosted by wordpress.COM and that site is not one of them. We do not provide support for it here at WordPress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forum for help with that site.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_PageSee also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/

I have three free blogs with wp under the same account (free) and wanted to add one with this domain address.

http://nuturelle.com is hosted by GoDaddy.com and parked
Hosting provider: GoDaddy.com
WHOIS: Click Here
IP Address: 184.168.221.55
Name Servers:
ns48.domaincontrol.com
ns47.domaincontrol.comTo use that domain to map to from any wordpress.COM blog URL you require a domain mapping upgrade. Please read what follows closely as it applies only if you are actually referring to mapping from a .wordpress.COM blog URL to that domain URL. If you want to use http://nuturelle.com on a wordpress.ORG software install then you are posting to the wrong support forum. In that case you need to post to http://wordpress.ORG/support/
re: mapping an existing domain
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#transferring-a-domain-to-wordpress-com but mapping an existing domain is possible.Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made, it and the domain mapping purchase here, each and every year.
Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually and a domain name purchase and domain mapping are included in the Premium upgrade bundle.
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL.
If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

@timethief , FYI this “domain has not registered yet and can’t be mapped” thing is a known issue where the domain lookup tool isn’t recognizing certain extensions. If you run into any of these feel free to tag them “domain has not been registered yet” and modlook us. The warning may appear in another language so it might not translate directly, but that will be the gist of this problem, and it’ll usually happen with domains that have less common extensions. Thanks for all your help :)

@sylviesteinbach, your issue is different actually. If you’ll fill out the form on that link (for “why” just say the error and the domain you’re trying to add) we’ll get in touch. Thanks!
