My editing page refuses to function.

    Trying to edit a post, the only function which works is the title. I appear to have lost all of my earlier editions of pages and posts. Is this simply a problem of my connection with wordpress? Annoyingly the alternative editing page works but my post does not appear to be available in my dashboard.

    I copy and paste my posts these days, because I have a very weak internet connection. Today while I was in the process of publishing a post, there was no cursor, so I was unable to paste my post.
    I returned to the all posts link and opened another post and the page remained blank. I checked to revisions for that post and there none.
    Then through gritted teeth I switched to the editor which is jokingly referred to as the’ improved editor,’ which worked and I published.
    My revisions were all in place as well.
    Does this mean we are obliged to use the ‘improved editor?

    I don’t know and sincerely hope that is not the case. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up response.     Thank you for your interest timethief but the panic is over, my edit page has returned from outer space in perfect working order. I suppose that when the Black day comes, the new editing system will open up in the dashboard. Right now it’s a pain having to go from one page to another all the time. All the best, enochered

    P.S. I decided not wait, so I canceled my domains, and archived my sites.

    There are huge problems with that, most of those whom visit my site are reading stuff I wrote years ago. If you start again on another platform you lose all that, The idea of fiddling around altering a couple of million words to suit a different system is too much for me.
    I changed my Theme once and that was bad enough. Good Luck.
