My Blog's Appearance in Google search?

    Hello,
    I’m new to blogging world and i just set up my web site. One thing i noticed that when i search my name on google, I see that my blog’s snippet is horrible. How can I customize this on wordpress.com ?

    Something that you could do is to edit the tagline for your blog. This is just a short custom text that you can write to explain what your blog/website is about.

    To add/edit the tagline of your blog, you must be in your dashboard. From the menu items on the right hand side of your dashboard there will be the link for settings. Click settings then general. At the top of the general page, underneath your title, there is a text box that reads ‘Tagline’. Here is where you can write your own summary of your website.

    There are a lot of plug-ins to explore as well, to help your appearance on google. But, I would try changing your tagline first. It will take a little bit before google recognizes the change.

    The reason for my correction: There are two different types of WordPress websites. There are the .com websites and the .org websites. The .org websites offer you full control of your website (you can add plug-ins, host the website on your own domain, and play around with every detail of your websites). While .com websites you have limited control over what you can change, but this is in exchange for having WordPress host the website for you, and make sure that you don’t ever have to touch the html or css code.

    For your website, you could not use a plug-in because you are running a .com website. This means that what you are able to do in terms of your appearance on google is limited to what you have access to in your dashboard. If you were to grow and develop a .org, or self hosted, website, you would be able to tweak the code and incorporate SEO tools into your site.
