Why is my homepage showing my older posts instead of my most recent ones? Is there a way I can change this setting? How do I do that?

Have you marked any posts as “sticky posts”?

If so edit them and remove that designation and click “update”.

I also suggest that you go here > Appearance > Widgets and palace a Recent Posts widget in the sidebar to provide links to access your posts.

I have tried to post my most recent ones as “sticky” posts. I check the checkbox and click update. When the page is done refreshing I see the box is unchecked again.

Most themes here are not set up to handle more than one post as Sticky. Mark only one as sticky, remove the others from Sticky designation.
