Typo is a responsive layout theme. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

thank you.
for some reason though, with nothing to do with appearance, there were no “like” or “share” buttons on the mobile version….
I’m not sure why or how to fix that…. -

I think you have a browser related issue because I see the share icons http://www.responsinator.com/?url=frompieces.wordpress.com%2F
Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
again – thank you!!
this sounds way over my head…
but I’m looking at the blog through my facebook link (on iphone) – which is how probably anyone that’s looking at it at this point is…. and either I have to make it so only an excerpt shows and then when you continue to the post the “like” and “share” comes up, or if I jus let it go to the complete post on the first page, those doesn’t appear… -
Click the link I provided http://www.responsinator.com/?url=frompieces.wordpress.com%2F and in the image there click the Two title link and scroll to the end of the post. There is see the share icons.

ok…. thank you…. I guess the only way IS to have it as an excerpt, which is fine…. :)
THANK YOU!!!!!!
-
(I mean as an excerpt at the first page and then click on and get the whole page with the like and share :)

Hi there,
You can get the sharing links at least on the front page as well. To get sharing links on your front page, just log in to your Dashboard and then navigate to Settings >> Sharing. If you scroll down you’ll see checkboxes which control on which pages sharing is enabled. Check the box for front page and click save. It should enable it for your front page at that point!
