Missing Sign Out
-
When the recent changes were implemented the option to sign-out was not made available in the New Reader, New Stats Page and New Post Editor. It was a glaring omission which shows that the changes could not have been tested properly
@designsimply has asked me to open this thread to get feedback on this specific issue. I would remark that it should not be necessary as the nuisance is obvious.
It is an opportunity to alert readers that there are threads which complain about the entire change issue and its inadequacies,
So, please when you have commented here about the missing sign-outs, pop over to the other threads and add your feedback on the general subject of recent changes. A lot of people are annoyed. The main threads are:-

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Addendum
It has been said that one need only hover the pointer over the top right gravatar image. I’ve tried it with Internet Explorer, Firefox 34 and Firefox 34.05. It is only true on the Dashboard.
What does happen, when you click-on the gravatar is that one’s profile opens.

There comes a time when feedback becomes venting. Unsatisfied users have the option of moving to other platforms. Those who remain here and choose to post their same points of view over and over into multple threads which distracts us from providing actual technical support are in my not at humble opinion self serving folks with ego issues they need to address elsewhere. As there are no actual support issues in this redundant thread I tagged it for closure.

re: logging out of WordPress.COM
Go to https://wordpress.com/ and click your Gravatar and then look next to your username in the left sidebar. -
While it’s not available via the hover/drop-down menu that was there previously (there’s no more hover-menu at all in the blue toolbar), you can get to it from My Sites/Reader/Post Editor by clicking your avatar in the toolbar (the My Profile/Me menu), then the Sign Out link is in the sidebar on that page.
I think the advice to hover the avatar only applies within the grey toolbar (currently).

Hi, TT
@designsimply said
This one is a pain point for me too because I sign in and out a lot for testing—my use case is not a typical user use case though. So if you, or anyone else, would like to start a new forum thread specifically about this topic so we can see how many people reply just about that issue, that would be awesome. My goal would be to collect a number on this one—to see how many people participate in a conversation specifically about that by itself.
This thread was opened for that reason.

So, I think you should remove that tag.
Cheers. -

You will kindly note that this thread was requested by your own staff member Creativity Cultivator – Design Simply, who is currently assigned to deal with these matters and report back. That request, from Design Simply, can be found in the middle of page 3 on

And, to quote “So if you, or anyone else, would like to start a new forum thread specifically about this topic so we can see how many people reply just about that issue, that would be awesome. “
Personally, I would prefer a single thread and asked for sticky post for that purpose. The idea of a single thread was rejected.
As for your grossly personal remarks about complainants; you are not qualified to assess personal psychology. Instead try understanding that the things you complain about are a result of frustration and should be treated as such. And, if you want a more orderly way of proceeding, as do we all, then it is up to WP to create a more orderly method.
We do not really have an option to move other platforms because many have too much time invested in their blogs which profits Automaticc inc and gives use the right to complain.
As for using email for complaints. None of us would no what other members were concerned about.
This a members forum, for our use as we see fit. Or, is WP not really a community at all.
Your comments smack of unreasoned hubris and are disgraceful.

You will kindly note …
As you can read what I posted above you already know noted that I was confused.
Your signout issue has been answered.

Thanks for the information but the thrust of complaints, on this and allied issues, is that intermediate steps have been introduced which jointly and severally are a nuisance.
-
If you’ve already commented once here, please step back and let others comment if they would like to talk about the main issue.
Thanks!

As if it was not clear, add me.

For the few times that I actually land in the New Dash, yes please bring back a conveniently placed log-out link there. The current route to get there involves too many clicks.
Other recent related threads that I’ve run across:

(And thank you, designsimply, for your gracious persistence dealing with the negative feedbackers. Chocolate?)
