Menus doesn't display

I want to add a main menu as per the demo but it won’t diosplay. Where is the option under ‘menus’ to display the menu?
I want to add ‘home’, ‘contact us’, About’ etc but there is no facility.
Also, how do you edit the white social icons into the header bar. There is no facility to add social widgets anywhere other than the sidebar. Very frustrating man!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First, you need to make the pages you want to link to. So make your “about” & “contact us” etc pages. Then go to Appearance–> Menus in your dashboard and add those pages to the menu.
I am assuming that you have seen the menus support page. have you watched the screencast video there?
