Media upload to wrong date folder

  When I upload a media (e.g. image/file) using media on the dashboard, WP normally stores it in folder of the current date (e.g. wp-content/uploads/2024/01). All of a sudden, WP is storing the medias uploaded in the folder of the original start date of the website (2023/05). Note, I am not uploading it via a post/page, just straight from media. Can someone advise what may have gone wrong and how do I fix this?
