Media storage

  • I am getting a message that says “You are using 1.2 GB out of 3.0 GB.
If I delete old files from years ago, will that photo be deleted from my blogs?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • If you delete any image from your Media Library it will be gone from the WordPress.com servers so when a visitor’s browser clicks to view a post the image will not be there and cannot be displayed.

All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. If you need more space you can purchase a Space Upgrade which will give you an additional 10, 25, 50, 100, or 200 gigabytes of storage space, and allow you to upload audio files. http://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/

  • Timethief,

Thank you so much for the info. I appreciate your help so much.
BTW, do you know what happened to being able to write to someone at WordPress for support? Or are all questions now answered through a message board?

    Thank you.

  • This is a peer support forum where Volunteers and Staff work cooperatively to deliver WordPress.com support. There is no phone support here. Volunteers answer most questions posted into forum threads and Staff monitor. When Volunteers cannot provide the required support we flag threads for Staff attention.

Provided you have purchased an upgrade then you can contact Staff directly using this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ Note: Staff frequently choose to direct the contact link to these peer support forums on weekends, holidays, when they attend quarterly meet-ups and/or when they have a backlog or have lots of code changes to be made. However, there are always Staff behind the scenes, who aren’t displaying a visible presence on these forums and we Volunteers tag threads for their assistance when required.
