Make shortlink easier to access
-
Currently, to get a shortlink for a post, you have to click all the way throgh edit post –> get shortlink which is clunky and counterinuitive (when I want a shortlink, I am not wanting to edit my article, I am wanting to publicise it on twitter or in an email)
I can see that you don’t want to be adding every blog posting to your shortlinks database, but it would be really handy if there was a ‘get shortlink’ button to be next to the ‘edit post’ link when viewing an article while logged in.
Is this possible?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree. It’s always frustrating to go back into the edit post to get it. Always afraid of screwing something up.

Yes, it is possible. There was always a second way to get the shortlinks and both of you are not aware of it.
When you are logged in, you see a horizonatal navigation bar on top. In the blog info scroll down section, you have the get shortlink option! :)

Also, when you have an active twitter account and activated the Publicize Twitter from dashboard => my blogs, you’ll get the newly published post or page’s shortlink from your twitter updates. Automatically.
