  I would like to make my site inactive and not come up on Google search results without deleting the account.

  Yes, you can do this very simply:
  ~ login to the back end of your WordPress website
  ~ on the left sidebar, click on settings
  ~ Under “Site Visibility” choose ” Discourage search engines from indexing this site”

  This is a solution hopefully that will work for you.
