Make an income through adds

I am a blogger with word press for over 3 years now, i have realised for the past 3 years the views i receive won my page are quite high, what would my best option be if i wanted to make money from the adds that are on my site? In simple words ,What must i do to make an income from adds, should i make a domain and pay yearly on wordpress ?

The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.
