Lost Domain
-
I changed the domain name of my site on settings and have now lost all the content to my site and the page now will not load. I don’t know how to get back to my old site or just get the old content back. What do I do?

My guess is your domain name is not pointed to your host. Check the nameserver that your domain is associated with. Does it point to your current hosting?
If your hosting and domain services are through the same company, try clicking the ‘use default” nameserver” option (if available). This should clear up everything.
Lastly, your files are most likely safe (assuming you have not deleted any of them from your host server). This sounds like an “arrow” pointing in the wrong direction. Think of it like a highway sign pointing to Boston on a road that actually goes to New York. Boston is still there, you just got misdirected. You just need to fix the sign.

Hi there, please provide the site addresses involved. Once we know that we can point you in the right direction for support.

Hi there,
That domain is hosted by Bluehost, which means you’re using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org.
Please see if you’re able to fix this yourself using the documentation for the open source WordPress software with which your site is built.

Else you will likely need to contact support at your hosting provider so they can help you fix this via your hosting control panel with them.
