Locked out of account
-
Hi – I purchased a WP site on Flippa recently and was attempting to change the URL to a domain I recently purchased. I went into settings > general and manually changed the URL. This screwed everyone up. Locked me out of my account, site is now only displaying in HTML.
This account im logged in now is not what the site was attached to. However it uses the same email but I can’t log in to the other account. Please help!

We can’t help as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform but is hosted by a third party hoster. As you have a self-hosted site, you must solve this problem yourself. You find info at https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/changing-the-site-url/

All I need help with is getting back access to my other WP account. Metaversio.io was the name and I tried to manually change the URL in Settings and it locked me out and kinda broke the site. Can you just help me get back in to the account?

As you said yourself in your first thread: “I purchased a WP site on Flippa” … so your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform but is hosted by Flippa.

Hi there!
Thanks for the clarification here. Taking a look at the URL you’ve provided, it’s true that metaversio.io isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com.
It looks like the domain ponts to SiteGround, which is indeed a self-hosting service! If you’re having trouble logging into your account, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to their support directly. You can find that right here: https://www.siteground.com/support
They should be able to help you regain access, and look into the HTML that’s displaying on your site.
Hope that helps – if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
