    In following the simple WordPress instructions I must be missing something. The place I find the chain icon, under the Write tab, is grayed out. I tried pasting the link address and it was still grayed out. Where do I do all the steps WordPress explains?

    Make sure you have the text you want to make into a link highlighted first. The chain link icon will not show up (“un-grayed-out” if that is a word) until the text is highlighted.
