Like Button Disappeared

The Like button disappeared from my blog without my doing it – and even though I’ve gone into Settings to ensure LIKE button is ON, it doesn’t appear at the bottom of my posts.

The Likes module for the Jetpack plugin is not enabled on the site, http://louisegallagher.ca/, nor does that site appear to have any blog posts published.
Are you speaking of the WordPress.com site https://dareboldly.com/, that’s linked from https://louisegallagher.ca/blog/?
Likes are on by default for the site, https://dareboldly.com/, and I can see the Like button on your most recent post at https://dareboldly.com/2020/11/13/my-north-star/
Can you give a link to the specific post where likes aren’t appearing?

Hi Kokkieh, thank you for your quick response. I posted something yesterday and that’s where there’s no Like button.
And yes – it’s on my Dare Boldly site.

Hi Louise, can you try changing the post type? I noticed this is set up as just an image. Would you be willing to see if changing to a regular post makes any difference?

Sure… would you be able to tell me how to do that please? I hadn’t changed anything when it disappeared and am alas, somewhat technically challenged.

What’s weird is that for awhile today the Like button had appeared — and now it’s gone again.

No worries. Edit the post. Click Post > Post Format. Change the format to Standard, then save.
