Like button always loading

The like button is always loading on my end. This is the case for my own blogs and when I view others blogs. I cannot see who likes my blog, and I cannot like theirs in return. The only way that I can like someones blog is if I am in reader and subscribed to their blog (which I don’t want to do to every post I like).
I have updated everything on my computer, including Firefox and Safari. I cleared my caches. Not sure what else to do. This has been happening since February sometime, but have not had a chance to look into it until now. I did see some other posts like this a while ago but can’t relocate them now.

I’ve taken a look at both of your pages with two different computers (both a Mac and a PC), but I’ve not been able to replicate any issues with the Like button continually loading.
It may be that some sort of security feature that you’ve enabled is preventing this feature from loading, such as an antivirus program or some browser add-ons which you’ve installed.
You might want to try checking your computer for any firewalls, anti-virus programs, or even malware which might be causing this behavior. You can also check another computer to verify if the problem is limited to this computer.

The like button seems to only continually load from my end, others seem to be able to like my blog posts still, I think! Like is ‘loading’ on my iPad and on another pc using Chrome.
I work from a mac. I am not aware of any security software I have installed and no anti-virus sw. How do I find if I have browser add-ons, firewalls or malware on a mac that could be affecting wordpress?

Hi there,
Unfortunately there are no single steps that I can give you which will allow you to be sure your computer is free from malware or to make sure that you’ve not installed any browser add-ons, etc.
You’ve got a couple of choices. You can make use of Google (or your favorite search engine) and research how to check for and remove malware from Macs. There are both paid for and free solutions out there. The same for browser add-ons and for how to check for anti-virus software, etc.
Alternatively, you can also bring your Mac in to your nearest Apple store and ask some advice from the employees there. They may be able to help you and answer any questions you might have about your actual hardware and Operating System!

I am wandering if I even need to go to these lengths? Firstly, I checked for anti-virus and turned off add-ons, so they can’t be causing any problems. Secondly, I checked it on my iPad and another PC and the same problem was occurring logged in to my account and logged out – the like button was always loading, grrr. So I suspect it is nothing I have loaded on my computer. Can you advise?

Just to be certain I did the requisite research and am pretty certain I am free of all malware issues. I also know there are many people out there with this problem. What did they do to fix it?
I would really like to be able to utilise the like feature again! -

I’ve conferred again with my peers and this doesn’t appear to be an issue which has been widely reported, if at all.
The “Like” button is a piece of javascript. The security on some browsers can be set to not load or require permission to load javascripts. A browser might also fail to fully load a javascript every once in a while, but usually refreshing the page will allow it to load correctly.
If you haven’t already, you might also want to make sure that you have updated your browser to the most recent version as outdated browsers can cause issues as well:
