You’re not alone. I have this problem also. From what I gather the issue is in wordPress itself and there’s nothing we can do about it. Our best bet is to save up the rendered images and upload them in place of the latex code.
A huge hassle, but then again the latex rendering feature has always been glitchy. Either it works or it doesn’t, and I have keep previewing after removing a space or some piece of text or what not, when the same equation rendered perfectly elsewhere.

Is there a bug tracking issue for this problem that I can point my support staff and customers to?

I have over 2000 formulas that I cannot create images for. I am a math teacher, and use LaTeX everywhere on my school’s math website. I am 100% dependent on it working at this point. For the past 2 years, no issues!!! I hope WordPress fixes this today!!!! My students are really upset they cannot access all of their lesson notes, and as a busy teacher, I do not have time to create and upload images to those LaTeX codes. It’s too much!!! I am so stressed right now!

Your sites are not hosted here and our WordPress.COM support docs do not apply to them. We do not provide support them. You are posting to the wrong support forum.WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
