It’s Possible!: Facebook SHARE and LIKE buttons…at the same time!
-
Thank you so much for these instructions and to @airodyssey for the updated links! I love having the like button in addition to the FB share. :)
Now if only I could get the centered alignment thing figured out for the buttons. Do you mind clarifying where I put the html code? Which widget?
Thanks in advance!
-
@katiehigg: I believe aligning the buttons to the center (if at all possible) could only be done with the Custom Design upgrade. If you have it, please open a new topic.

But how do you manually put in a like button, rather than a share button? what’s the link for that?
-
@srseale: …other than what’s already been repeated on this forum topic?

hi, unfortunately all the URL’s to the facebook icons don’t work. Where can I find a link that does work?
Thanks for sharing

@deruijterp: And you are following the updated instructions, correct?

If you are talking about the icon itself: find it on Google (it’s the easiest way). -
@airodyssey: thanks. In the meantime i progressed a bit further. Obviously I can find an icon, which I uploaded into the media library of the blog. That all works now. Next issue is:
– the official button is now a LIKE button
so the new service I am creating is a SHARE button. The functionality seems to work with the one I’m creating, however the size of the button is a bit weird. It doesn’t resize properly and the descriptive text is placed ON TOP of the image. Can I solve this somehow?
-
@deruijterp: It’s designed to accept only icons that measure 16 x 16 pixels exactly. Anything larger than that will cause unexpected results.
If you have further questions, for the sake of organization, could you please start a new topic (specifying the address of your blog)?

this point does not work for me.
10) Now, simply click the right down arrow on the Facebook button (not the button you JUST created; the other one provided by WordPress) and choose the “LIKE” option, save everything at the bottom of the page and you’re all set. -
J.C. how did you get the Facebook Like box on your blog? Do you have a wordpress.org site? Is it possible to have a Like Box on a free hosted wordpress site?
