Is there NO WAY to go back to Classic editor on WordPress.com now?

  • You need to allow us to choose if we want gutenberg (takes 3x as many steps to perform some function – poorly) or classic. Many of us have many years of experience, we don’t want to be thwarted by something as poorly thought out as Project Gutenberg. Some of us just want to go in and WRITE and insert images and galleries without cluster fks happening.

Please give the option. There is NO REASON why WordPress.com cannot do this for your users. WE made you who you are. Act like you respect that. Please.

You say “We Care About Your Happiness! They don’t call us Happiness Engineers for nothing. If you need help, don’t sweat it, we’re here for you.”

TIME TO BE HERE FOR US. MAKE US HAPPY. GIVE US LONG TIME USERS THE CHOICE. Gutenberg? Not needed. Not good. It can’t even put in an image gallery correctly. The old way worked perfectly! Who does that? Who makes something that’s worse and pushes it on their customers?

  • Hi there, WPcom is retiring the Classic Editor in the MySite dashboard for the entire WPcom platform. You can read more about the change in these blog posts

Say Hello to the WordPress Block Editor

The Classic Editing Experience is Moving, Not Leaving

Your choices now are the Classic Block in the MySite Block Editor or if you prefer not to use the Classic Block there, the original WP Classic Editor is available via the WP Admin dashboard of your site at theedgeof.wordpress.com./wp-admin/post-new.php

However, the Block Editor is easier to use than most people believe and has been greatly improved over the last couple of years. If your sites have already been switched to the Block Editor at MySite, you can try it out in a draft post and there’s a tutorial to get you started at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/

Post back here if you have any other questions.

  • Hello again, it looks like you have a forum thread where you have replies as well at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/gutenberg-26/ I’ve gone ahead and closed that one so we can keep all support on this topic in one place.

Again, if you have a specific process you use to write and post your content, why not share that process with us and use this thread to share specific feedback on your block editing experience? Thanks.
