Invite and Contributor Confusion

    I’ve read through the forum posts and help files on the issue of invites, and something needs to be seriously fixed in the UI.

    When inviting someone to your blog, there is an option to “Add user to my blog as a contributor” which implies that when they accept the invitation, they will be automatically added to the blog as a contributor.

    In reality, they get an invite to That’s it. If you want them to be a contributor, author, or whatever on your blog, you have to add them manually.

    This used to be automatic. I see from some posts earlier this year that the automatic part was broken but should be fixed by now. We’ve had a bunch of people for a P2 multiple contributor site having a lot of confusion and frustration because of this issue.

    Am I misunderstanding how this works or is the invite and add user to my blog function still not working?

    I don’t have an answer and wish I did. I think you ought to contact Staff using the new support form. Here’s the link After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    Will you be kind enough to return to this thread and post the response for Staff?
