Inventory for a Not For Profit Furniture

    We collect and then redistribute furniture to help make houses into homes. We are a small Not For Profit but now need to capture and manage our inventory better. Currently on a Spreadsheet but want to make the information including photos available to our volunteers more easily. Any WP sites that we can look at ? Any plugins or tips you can help with.

    Hi there. WordPress.com is not the best option for, if I understand you correctly, a searchable database that you can easily edit and update as things change. This platform uses blog posts and static pages which, while you can make it work, is less than ideal for this type of thing. We also can’t install plugins here.

    I think you’d be better off using WordPress.org where you can install the right plugins to host a database. There will be some cost involved, as you’ll need a domain and hosting account to use WordPress.org, but on the other hand you’ll be able to add advertising to your site there to recoup expenses, if you wanted to.
