Incoming Links from a spyware or virus site

Has anyone else noticed that certain incoming links [shown on the stats page] are links to a spurious site that immediately begins downloading something nasty when you check the link?

How can this be stopped? I do not want any of my readers to use that spurious link trying to get to my blog. I have reported it as a spam blogsite to blogspot.com, but they seem to be overloaded with such things.

Yes, there are at least two other threads on the subject around. The best advice is to mark it as spam here so Akismet automatically sends it to the spam file. That means fewer people will see it and click on it.

chenocetah: that link was probably created for the sole purpose of encouraging you to click on it. It’s unlikely anyone else will ever see it.

When you look at the comment in your dashboard (either under “comments” or under “awaiting moderation” at the bottom of the comment you will see “spam.” Click that.

@tellyworth: yes, but won’t it also show up as a Trackback unless it already goes to Akismet?
