Importing and exporting
-
If I export the content of my blog as a zip file, and then import it to a different blog (also a free wordpress.com blog) — will the content of the first blog be deleted? In other words, does exporting/importing automatically delete the original? Or is it more like making a copy?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Exporting does not delete anything; it just makes a copy of the content that can be imported into a different site. (As far as I know, it should not delete any existing content on the blog where you import the file.)
More info:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/“Note: This will ONLY export your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags; uploads and images may need to be manually transferred to the new blog. The current version of the WordPress.org installation gives you the option to import uploaded files, but the blog you are importing from must be live and serving images properly in order for it to work. So, if you intend to delete content (or the whole blog) here at WordPress.com, please wait until after media files have successfully been imported into the new blog, and make sure your site is not set to private!”
