Import successful but no posts showing up
-
Hello. I’m trying to transfer my Xanga posts to WordPress. I downloaded the zip files and used the Import tool and later received an email saying the import was successful. But there are no posts or archives showing up. I cleared my cache and cookies, etc., still nothing. I tried it 2-3 times. I’m worried that years of journal entries are gone forever (I hadn’t logged into Xanga for a while, so I never found out about Xanga 2.0 until just the other day, when it was apparently too late.) Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For instructions on how to do a Xanga import, please see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually. Until you successfully import all of the files, your blog may not show up correctly on WordPress.com.

Jackie, thank you, I will try that. Question: If all of the posts were set to be private in Xanga, will they stay that way on WordPress? And, if not, is there an easy way to convert all of them to be private? There are so many entries and I used that blog for private purposes only.

I honestly don’t know the answer to the first question. My guess would be that the posts would come in as public, since I doubt that data gets transmitted in the export file.
You can set each post on WordPress.com to private if you wish, or even easier, you can set your entire blog to be private. For instructions on each process, see:
