Images disappeared?
-
I just uploaded a post, which included two images, one is this:
It all worked fine for a few minutes, then the image started giving a 404.
I re-uploaded the images via BlogDesk, and it added “-1” to the end, like this:
Which makes me think the original images are still there – so why do they give 404s? I’ve updated the original image tags to use the second set, but it seems a little weird!
-
I know, the urls were encoded in my html, but when I copied & pasted them, it evaluated them :)
It wouldn’t have explained the second one working though!
Anyway, both sets work now – so whatever was the problem has been fixed! :D
-
I spoke too soon – the second set don’t work now! WTF?
I’ll change the urls back to point at the first set, but now I’m really confused!
-
-
This is madness! The first set all just “disappeared” again, but the second set work. I’ve just made another post, so I’ll keep an eye on that one too – looks like something’s really screwy atm!

Danny I see pics on your blog in this post
Danny, you need to read my two posts in this thread. I can tell you haven’t. You’re still nameing the pictures incorrectly and I have pointed out to you that the pictures are visible. I have also asked you specifically for the post where you do not see the pictures but you have not answered.
Danny, please pay attention to the asistance being offered to you. It bothers me that your spamming the forum asking for help but have failed to accept the help offered to you.

I give up.

drmike – I agree with you but equally I didn’t know what the original filenames were. I’m assuming that a name really was

for instance….. -
As mentioned, images without brackets had the same problem, and *all* images worked up until a point. I know how to html-encode urls, and this definately wasn’t the problem.
I can now see all images on my blog, but I don’t know if it’s been “fixed” (as there’s been no response), or if the problem is only on some of the servers?
Is there a list of IP addresses for the servers that I can connect to, to see if it’s particular boxes causing problems?
-
Sorry to keep posting, but I really need to know if anyone can look into this – the images are quite important to my blog, and there’s definately an issue with the different servers here, because throughout the day my images will/won’t work randomly.
