Hi there. Did you want to add the image as a “cover image” where there’s text over it, and the image gets cut off on the sides or top depending on your screen size? If so, the cover block should do nicely:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/cover-block/If you want to go full width without getting cut off (which will mean some scrolling on some screens) you could probably do that too. Just click on the image, click alignment, and pick full width.
