Hi there,
Is http://sabbathlight.wordpress.com/ the site that you need help with?
It looks like that is a free site, so it would not be able to use a premium them like Columnist, which would only be available as a premium theme to Premium and Business users.
Once you let me know for sure which site you need help with, we can go from there. Thanks!

I would like to install a theme like this one here on this free blog: http://maonib.wordpress.com, if you can jus install it now to my blog here: http://sabbathlight.wordpress.com

@sabbathligth: You can find and activate that theme by searching for it in our older interface here:
https://sabbathlight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?search=columnist
Please note that The Columnist is a retired theme, which is why we don’t recommend it in our main showcase. I would encourage you to consider one of the newer themes in our repository also, as retired themes aren’t maintained. The Columnist also has an older design that doesn’t adapt to different mobile devices.
You can search for alternative themes that have a grid-based layout via the following link:
https://wordpress.com/themes/free/filter/grid-layout
Rebalance and Baskerville 2 are a couple of my favourites. :)
Let me know if you have any extra questions around the above.

Hi there,
Are you speaking of this theme?
That is not a WordPress.com theme. Third party themes like that can only be used on sites that have the Business Plan.
It looks like that is a free site, so it would not be able to use a premium them like Columnist, which would only be available as a premium theme to Premium and Business users.
That is incorrect. Free sites can purchase any Premium Theme listed at My Site ->Themes – a plan is not required to purchase a single theme. However, only themes in our showcase can be used. All that is explained here:

Thank you all,
You can find and activate that theme by searching for it in our older interface here:
https://sabbathlight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?search=columnist</blocquote>@siobhyb: that works very much, I have fixed it.
I also noticed that by visting http://subdomain.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?theme=pub/the-columnist anyone can get it.
Many Thanks.

I also noticed that by visting subdomain.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?theme=pub/the-columnist anyone can get it.
Just to clarify – only sites that were created prior to the theme being retired can activate it via the WP Admin panel. If the site was created after the theme was retired, it will not show up there.
As @siobhyb said, retired themes are not updated to include WordPressdotcom’s latest features. Also, themes that are not responsive (that don’t change width to accommodate all devices) are penalized by search engines these days. If you must use a retired theme which is not responsive, you’ll also want to activate the WordPress mobile theme at https://sabbathlight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=mobile-options
Cheers!
