How to set the page of what you want when someone types your site address?

When you go to my site http://www.luxelightphotos.com it takes you to professional branding. I’d like to change the page to a different one but I can’t figure it out? I set another one on pages tab to home page but that didn’t fix the issue. Please help?

Also on my portfolio page my folios are split up into older post page and newer post page unnecessarily, can that be consolidated to one page?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is luxelightphotography.wordpress.com.

    Hi,

The self-hosted site http://www.luxelightphotos.com/ is presently being redirected to the WordPress.com site https://luxelightphotography.wordpress.com/. Which one are you referring to?

It’s not possible for the WordPress.com site to have the Professional Branding ‘page’ set as the homepage, because that’s a portfolio project, so I suspect that you were referring to the self-hosted site.

Also on my portfolio page my folios are split up into older post page and newer post page unnecessarily, can that be consolidated to one page?

On your WordPress.com site the default Portfolio is evidently set to display 10 projects per page. This number can be changed at My Site(s) > Settings > Writing > Content Types > Portfolio Projects. The number set at “Display _#_ per page” is the number of projects that will be displayed.

See the Content Types section of the Writing Settings support page for relevant information and instructions.

However, the menu item “Portfolio” in the site links to a different page, https://luxelightphotography.wordpress.com/home-2/, which evidently has portfolio shortcode inserted into it. The number of projects per page in this case may be changed by adding a “showposts=N” argument to the shortcode. See the Attributes and Examples sections of the Portfolio Shortcode support page.

I don’t know if the above solutions regarding the number projects per page are applicable to a self-hosted site, which may be using a WordPress.org version of the Snaps theme used on the WordPress.com site.

by adding a “showposts=N” argument to the shortcode
where “N” is the maximum number of projects per page displayed by the shortcode
