How to remove email completely?
-
I have a self-hosted blog connected to a wordpress.com-account to be able to use the stats-plugin. When I registered the wp-account I used my personal email, but later changed to the blog-email.
Now I want to make a new separate wp-account to use for a private blog. The problem is that when I try to register with my private email-address it tells me that the address is already taken, even though I have changed and confirmed the first accounts email address. Is there a way to make my personal email available for registration again?

If you created a blog on the existing account, go to settings > general and change email address there. If you just created an account, go to edit > profile from the “my account” pulldown when logged into the account and you should be able to change it. If it doesn’t work, then you might have to contact staff directly at http://support.wordpress.COM/contact/ . Do that while NOT logged into your account and click the “I don’t have a blog” button.

Alright! I haven’t created any blog on the existing account, just connected a self-hosted one with the api-key. And since I’ve done what you suggested I’m gonna try to contact them!
Thanks a lot for the advice! :) -
Now when I try to register, I get the message “That email address has already been used. Please check your inbox for an activation email. It will become available in a couple of days if you do nothing.”. So I’ll just wait and see! :)
