how to make type sharper in my header

  • I created my header in Illustrator but obviously that”s not a format you accept. Saved it as a .jpg but the small type is very blurred. I Googled the question “how to make type sharper on the web” and read this long explanation of the .svg format. Tried it but your site rejected it. Any suggestions?

  • Hi there,

I took a further look into the image file you uploaded and it looks like the image itself is a bit blurry. If the file itself is blurry you will need to get a larger, high quality version of that image. It looks like the image was made larger to fit the proportions of the header. Changing the file type wouldn’t help with this.

Once you get a larger image set it to 990 by 257 pixels and it should be sharper.

    Cheers!

  • I’m talking about the type, not the photograph. The type was created in Illustrator and is vector-based. My Illustrator file opens nice and crisp at even massive enlargement but when I export it as a jpg it has no sharp edges. The color of the background blurs inside the white type. I also tried to convert the whole file to outline before saving as a jpg. No difference. Is there another format to use?

  • The image formats we accept are:

    .jpg/.jpeg
    .gif
    .png
