How to gain website traffic?

    Can someone please advise me on how to gain traffic to my website without advertising, posting links on forums or social media?

    Advertising costs money and though I am willing to pay a small price I don’t think this should be the only way. I have no connections with anyone so its difficult to develop traffic.

    My traffic peaks around 40 to 100 range which is pitiful, I would like to develop a revenue from ads and eventually do some affiliated advertising but it seems like an uphill struggle.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Hi there,

    To clarify, are you against using social media to gain traffic or posting a link to social media to gain traffic (wanted to make sure the no comma was intentional :) )

    I ask this because it would be one of my main suggestions to:

    • Connect your site to your social networks such as Facebook and Twitter via Publicize
    • Use appropriate tags and categories for your posts so that people in the WordPress community can find your post
    • You can gain a following pretty quickly if you blog regularly and consistently
    • With the above in mind, make sure that you are posting content that is high in quality and unique. Search engines will be much friendlier to you if that is the case
