How Do I…set my blog to display only 3 posts on the homepage?
-
Most of my other blogs only display a few posts per page, but for some reason, the blog noted above will NOT do that and is unable to be set that way.
The “Reading” page has no option for setting how many posts display, nor does any of the options in my dashboard for that blog. It’s so annoying to have this long, long, long page that I DO NOT want. When I set this blog up, it didn’t do that, now it seems to, and I can’t find a way to correct that.
I’ve read the help files, but they don’t appear to apply to what I am seeing in my dashboard. Is this related to the template, or to a wordpress update?
I would really, really appreciate any help I can get.
For reference, one of my other blogs appears to still be the way it was (using an older template): http://photographyofgrace.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your username is not a WordPress.com blog and we cannot help with it at all. We can’t answer you correctly until you post an active link starting with http:// to the blog your refer to in the title of this thread. Will you please do that now?

Oh, the blog I can’t get set right (sorry, I though it would appear in my post since it asked for the URL):

Staff have introduced “infinite scroll” to some themes insluding Twenty Ten and will be implementing it on all themes that have a suitable structure for infinite scroll. This is a site wide change. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/to-infinity?replies=137
If you have a theme with footer widgets you can use a workaround to regain control over how many posts are displayed on the front page of your blog.

Well, wow. Just wow. I think I’m getting tired of them doing stuff unilaterally like that. The last change was to dump the cutline template I was using and automatically replace it with Twenty Ten – screwed up my widgets, lost all my links and bunch of my images.
…and now this? <sigh> Who thinks continuous scrolling is helpful or even wanted? Infinite scrolling makes it slow slow slow for some people to load the blog – it’s the worst design element anybody could implement, and so annoying. I won’t even read blogs that have more than three or four posts on one page…guess I won’t be reading my own either anymore :)
They don’t make major changes very often, but when they do, they’re doozies.
Thank you very much for taking the time to at least clear up my frustration at not being to “fix” my blog. I’m afraid I’ll be going elsewhere after all these years on wordpress.

Yes, there have been many disruptive changes made and all were made, without any prior notice. ‘m sorry to hear you are considering leaving because the workaround is an easy one. :(
