  You are just a bit over a half hour old wp.com user and your best bet is to work through this excellent tutorial to get acquainted with the WordPress.com platform:

  That tutorial will show you how to upload photos, compose posts, assign categories and tags, make pages, and much more.

  Have you followed those instructions? If so, then what went wrong where? Or did you not understand some part and want additional advice about how to proceed?
