How do I transfer subscribers and followers when I move my blog?
-
I’ve moved my blog (both are WordPress blogs) and can’t figure out how to transfer my subscribers and followers. Is there any way to do that?
When I try to go back to the original blog and send one last post, it doesn’t seem to work.

Hi there,
I’m afraid there really isn’t any way to transfer subscribers (followers) at this time.
Your followers need to opt-in to receiving any email updates for a given site.
Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)

Is there any way I can alert them to the change? Short of weeding through old alerts from wordpress and individually contacting each one (which I think would make them feel creeped out), I can’t see a way of letting them know. Would you recommend unforwarding the old blog to the new and sending out one last post to the old blog subscribers?
I have to say that I assumed that there would be a way to do this. Given that it’s so easy to transfer a blog to a different domain name and import all the contacts so easily, I wish that there had been a tip on how to alert my subscribers before transfering everything over. Although I’m the first to admit that maybe there was and I missed it.

If you still have access to the old blog, you could publish a post notifying them of the move.
Otherwise, there’s really no other way.
