How Do I Sign My Blog?

    Hello there,

    I wrote a blog post recently for a blog site that made me a contributor. However, my name is nowhere to be found when I click on the blog. I hoped that when I write it from my own account, my name will show up with each blog post I write. It seems it’s not the case. Do I need a plug in for this or do I need to change a theme?

    This cannot be solved by a plugin (they are for self hosted wordpress.ORG sites) or by changing themes.

    Be aware that not all wordpress.COM themes provide an author byline. It is not possible to have multiple author bylines on the same post. And, the author profile and gravatar that appears below each post in some themes only will appear only when there are two or more published authors on a blog. That data comes from the “About you” section on this page http://simplymartinablog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-editor

    If you have only contributor status then even if the theme does display authors your byline will not appear. You have to be an author for that.

    Suggestion: Type your byline on either the first or last line in the post.
